We have the Full Moon in Virgo on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 at 12:40 GMT. In this post, we'll take a closer look at how the third full moon of 2023 could influence us, and how we can work with its energy.....

A bit about the Worm Moon

Before we get into the details, the Full Moon on 7th March, is referred to as the 'Worm Moon,' which is a traditional name given to the full moon that occurs in March.

There is a tradition of naming full moons based on the changes in our natural environment during the time in which that particular full moon occurs.

In March, the ground begins to thaw after the winter freeze, and the soil becomes softer and more yielding. As a result, earthworms and other creatures begin to emerge from their winter hibernation and start to move around in the soil.

This activity in the soil is a sign of spring's arrival and the reawakening of the earth after Winter; hence the name, the Worm Moon.

As we head towards the Spring Equinox on 20th March, the Worm Moon reminds us that the earth is waking up. Spring is a period of renewal and growth, and a time to focus on new beginnings. It is also time to start to honour the natural cycles of the earth and the connection between all living things.

By tuning into the energy of the Worm Moon, we can connect with the energy of spring and set intentions for our personal growth, regeneration, and transformation.

Think back to the long, cold Winter and ask yourself what you have learned, what lessons you can carry forward, and what you can leave behind you.

It's worth noting that for some of us, the full moon is always a time of intense energy and heightened emotions.

Quite often you will hear people saying that they can't sleep as the moon is waxing to its peak. It's also well documented that as the moon reaches fullness, Accident and Emergency Departments see more admissions, and Police make more arrests!

The Full Moon in Virgo

Every full moon presents us with a chance to let go of anything that is no longer serving us, and by tapping into the energy of the zodiac sign that the full moon is in, we are working with energy that fully supports us as we make positive changes.

With the Full Moon moving through analytical and detail-oriented Virgo, this is a time when we might feel called to pay close attention to the finer points of our lives and to take action to improve our health, productivity, and overall well-being.

Earth sign Virgo is a sign that is associated with precision, organisation, and hard work. It is the sign of the zodiac that is often associated with the pursuit of perfection, and this full moon may bring with it a sense of urgency to get things done and to do them well.

You could possibly already be feeling this energy as we move closer to the Virgo Full Moon. I know I have.

One of the key themes of this full moon is likely to be the need for balance.

Altruistic Virgo is a sign that is associated with service, and we may find ourselves feeling a sense of duty or responsibility towards others.

However, it's important to remember that we also need to take care of ourselves, and so this full moon may encourage us to find ways to balance our responsibilities with our own needs.

In addition to this, the Full Moon in Virgo may also bring with it a sense of clarity and insight. Forward-thinking Virgo can often be counted on to find practical, logical solutions to even the most complex of issues.

As the light of the full moon illuminates everything around us, shining its light into even the darkest corners, this is a time when we too may be able to see things more clearly, enabling us to gain a better understanding of ourselves and what needs to be done, and to make important decisions with greater confidence.

However, Virgo is a sign that is often associated with anxiety and worry, and we may find ourselves feeling more anxious or stressed than usual. If you're used to working with full moon energy, or even if this is a new practice for you, remember that this is a natural part of the process of full moon energy, and by acknowledging and working through these feelings, we can emerge stronger and more resilient.

So what does all of this mean for us in practical terms?

Before doing any release work, there are a few key things that we can do to make the most of this full moon......

Activities for the Full Moon in Virgo:

#1 - Focus on self-care:

Look after yourself! During this full moon, it's important to take time out for ourselves and to prioritise our own needs. This may mean getting more sleep, eating healthily, or taking up a new hobby or doing something that brings us a little bit of joy.

The health-conscious Virgo Full Moon energy supports any activities that encourage us to live better.

#2 - Get organised:

Efficiency-loving Virgo is a sign that is associated with organisation and productivity, so this full moon is a great time to get our lives in order.

Whether it's cleaning out our closets, decluttering our workspace, or creating a new schedule, taking steps to improve our day-to-day routines can help us feel more in control and less overwhelmed.

#3 - Seek clarity:

This discerning full moon may bring with it a sense of clarity and insight, so it's a great time to reflect on our lives and to gain a better understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.

This may mean journaling, meditating, or simply taking some time to be alone with our thoughts.

#4 - Practice gratitude:

I know you probably hear this all the time but, it's important to remember to be grateful for everything good in our lives, especially during this full moon.

Helpful Virgo is a sign that is associated with service, and by focusing on the things that we are thankful for, we cultivate a sense of appreciation for what we already have, and are more likely to extend our generosity towards others.

That doesn't mean you have to give all of your worldly goods away, there are other ways to be generous - such as donating items you no longer need, or just giving your time to someone or something worthwhile.

#5 - Take Action:

To avoid procrastination and to get projects and goals moving in the right direction, focus on taking action.

Use the skilful and precise Virgo energy to break tasks down into smaller, manageable steps and take one step at a time. This can help you stay focused and avoid getting overwhelmed.

#6 - Get Outside:

As an Earth sign, Virgo energy is best supported by getting outside into nature. Go for a walk, take your shoes and socks off and get your feet onto the earth. Ground yourself by consciously plugging yourself back into the earth energy.

If this isn't practical, start preparing for planting season by clearing the clutter from your garden or washing your plant pots ready for Spring.

Do something that connects you to the natural world.

By taking steps to prioritise our own needs, get organised, seek clarity, and take action, we can make the most of this powerful energy and emerge stronger, more resilient, and with a clear plan for moving forwards, as we head towards the new season.

Releasing under the Full Moon in Virgo - and making space for the new

The full moon is widely known to be a time of release and surrender and it provides us with an opportunity to let go of what we no longer want or need in our lives, so we can make room for new experiences and welcome in opportunities.

As a practical and pragmatic earth sign, Virgo helps us to ground our energy and focus on the details of our lives. It's time to pay attention to what needs to be released and to take action towards making positive changes.

Let’s take a closer look at what can be energetically and symbolically released under the Virgo Full Moon....

Perfectionist tendencies:

Exacting and meticulous Virgo is a sign that is often associated with perfectionism, and this full moon may be a time to release this tendency. While striving for excellence can be a positive trait, constantly seeking perfection can be draining and can prevent us from enjoying the journey.

Under the powerful energy of the Virgo Full Moon, we can release our need for everything to be perfect and embrace the beauty of imperfection.

Think progress, not perfection!

Worry and Anxiety:

Virgo is also a sign that is associated with over-thinking, worry and anxiety, this full moon offers us a chance to examine and then release these emotions.

We are encouraged to let go of our fears and worries and to embrace the present moment.

Allow yourself to trust that everything is happening for your highest good and have faith that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Choose peace over fear!

Control:

Virgo can be fault-finding and is a sign that is associated with wanting to be in control.

Work on releasing obsessive behaviours.

Under the Virgo Full Moon we can try to let go of expectations and allow life to unfold in its own time and in its own way.

We can trust that the 'universe has our back' and that everything is working out exactly as it should.

Clutter:

Get rid of all your crap! Physically and emotionally.

As already noted above, neat and orderly Virgo is also a sign that is associated with organisation, and this full moon may be a time to finally release the clutter from our lives.

We can let go of physical clutter in our homes and workspaces, as well as the mental clutter in our minds.

By having a good clear out, we're telling the Universe that we're ready for newness and allll the good stuff that life has to offer.

If this just seems too overwhelming, start with a drawer or a corner of your home and as you clear and clean, affirm to yourself: "i am open to and ready for, all of the good that I deserve. I am ready!"

Self-Criticism:

Don't be so hard on yourself.

Perfectionist Virgo is a sign that is associated with self-criticism; Virgo just wants to get it right but, everyone makes mistakes, right?

This full moon offers us a chance to release that negative self-talk and the limiting beliefs that are holding us back. Let's try to let go of the need to judge ourselves so harshly, and instead be willing to embrace a sense of self-love and acceptance.

By releasing these negative emotions, we can cultivate a greater sense of happiness for ourselves.

Remember that, 'Comparison is the thief of joy'.

Unhealthy habits:

Whether it's bad eating habits, a lack of exercise, addictions, or negative, toxic relationships, (be them romantic relationships, friendships, or family members), that are draining our energy, the wellness-oriented Virgo Full Moon is a time to release any unhealthy patterns that are holding us back from being happy and living our best lives.

Get rid of them!

Old emotional wounds:

The Virgo Full Moon is a great time to release any old emotional wounds that are holding us back from experiencing a full and peaceful life.

This may mean seeking therapy, practising journaling for self-reflection, trying healing techniques, or acknowledging and symbolically releasing old emotional pain.

Let's be honest, the wounds are not going to be gone overnight but, making a start on working to release them is a positive step forwards.

Overthinking and Analysis Paralysis:

The analytical and investigative nature of the Virgo energy can also lead to overthinking and ‘analysis paralysis’. This can complicate decision-making or stop us from taking action, leading to feelings of frustration and overwhelm.

To avoid the negative effects of this, try to embrace imperfection.

Mistakes are a natural part of growth and learning.

Let's say it again for the people at the back: Think progress, not perfection!

Criticising Others:

The sometimes judgmental Virgo energy can also lead to a critical attitude towards others which can strain relationships and cause unnecessary conflict.

How about trying to recognise that everyone is doing the best they can and attempt to approach others with compassion, kindness and understanding?

Maybe this can lead to deeper connections with others and also help us to develop a greater sense of self-awareness for ourselves.

Releasing under the full moon is always a powerful exercise

As we can see, the Virgo Full Moon energy can be both positive and negative, depending on how we choose to work with it.

This full moon is providing us with a powerful opportunity to release old patterns and behaviours that are no longer aligned with our purpose and what we might want to achieve.

Whether it's self-doubt and criticism, unhealthy habits, toxic relationships, old emotional wounds, fear and anxiety, limiting beliefs, just some, or all of the above, this full moon encourages us to let go and embrace positive change.

By releasing under the full moon energy, we can cultivate a greater sense of peace and happiness in our lives and step into a new phase of growth and transformation. Fully supported by Virgo.

Practising release work can be as simple as writing everything down and ripping the list to shreds and throwing it away.

The important part is to make a conscious decision to let go, and then take positive steps to manifest the changes you want to see.

Have a happy Full Moon.
